The moment of mystery - the vastness of space, the unknown in medicine, the fleeting shadows of no-bird over the lake, the apparitions of unknown beings - the world is interactive, yet for some minutes or another we stand captive by all that is yet known, or knowable?  So short this life span, yet the promise of lives beyond this one, of worlds and realms here on this earth that we know of and others we dream of without fully grasping their substance, their essentiality. We wish to fly off at once to that which can be known, yet be equipped to find balance between that reality, this reality, and that reality with one's self, this finitude of disposition and selfhood.  What can be touched, or glanced at, or pondered upon - it is all that awaits beyond this shore here now.  Beyond the here now we have only the past, each our own past, and too the pasts which are shared.  We dig through old dusty libraries, and search ad infinitum on the web, mozy through countless encounters, in search of that which we did not know, which is probably all that could be come upon which we did not meet before, to say, the distance we choose to traverse, to go beyond our comfortable homes and dwellings, our minute social circles, to span a distance and discover something new.  Yet when we do come upon something new, it is captivation by awe, or the short span of time, and then it is gone.  Whisked away by some unknown force that is time and circumstance, and after we are simply in our solitude but free to behold that which came before. How often does the unknown make its appearance? Constantly? Rarely? But it is within our choice to be ready, to look, to ponder, to behold. Finally, love makes its appearance, for to behold that which could be known by the ideals of beauty and truth, that is being in love.
